Chris Grindstaff, Membership Chair

I bought my first kayak in July of 2008, joined the CCC almost immediately, and then started enthusiastically attending the local roll sessions. I found the CCC folks to be enormously helpful as I learned to roll and began to try out my first rivers. I've had a great time on a variety of rivers so far - from the Haw and Nanty, to Tellico and Wilson's Creek, to the French Broad and Chattooga. But, more than the rivers, I've enjoyed getting to know the paddlers. It really is an awesome community. I have offered to continue to act as membership chair for next year. I've held the position for almost a year. In that time I've worked on making club info and reports more readily available and streamlining what's required of the next membership chair. I hope that, as membership chair, I can put my programming skills to good use, and give back to the community that has welcomed me so readily.
